Music Playlist week #6

Music Playlist week #6

Welcome to Damson's weekly feature.

Each week we will share 10 great tracks with you.

Metronomy - Walking In The Dark

Metronomy haven't done too badly for a band that started out as a bedroom project, have they? 5 albums in, this is from their upcoming 6th. If the 5th is anything to go by, it's going to be an instant classic!

DJ Shadow & De La Soul - Rocket Fuel

How can a track that involves Dj Shadow AND De La Soul not be amazing?! It can't be. And it isn't. Just another in the long conveyor belt in absolute bangers from both of these guys. Oustanding.

Ezra Furman - My Zero

If you recently watched "Sex Education" on Netflix you may be familiar with Ezra Furman. If you're not, you will be soon. Sex Education is well worth a watch too. If you like your guitar music a bit weird, slightly grungy with a sprinkle of saxophone, you'll love Ezra.

The Hold Steady - Stuck Between Stations

"Not another Indie band from Brooklyn?", I hear you cry...well, yes but these guys are a little different from the regurgitated hipsters that usually come out of that part of the world. Just give them a listen and you'll see. Their album "Boys and Girls in America" is SUPERB.

Frank Turner - The Way I Tend To Be

It seemed to be quite trendy to be into Frank Carter, and for a long time we didn't get it. We do now though and he's on seriously heavy rotation at Damson HQ, with his perfect blend of punk and folk, he brightens up any day.

Planet Funk - Chase The Sun

Even if you aren't familiar with Planet Funk, you are bound to have heard this tune around somewhere. It's the perfect summer accompaniment, whether you are sitting in your garden or on a beach with a cocktail. Seriously motivating stuff.

Bat For Lashes - Kids In the Dark

Natasha Khan, better known as Bat For Lashes, is a seriously good songwriter. This offering from her latest album is, in our opinion, her best work for years. This is going to be on rotation for a long, long time.

Aim - Cold Water Music

If you're looking for a chilled-out blend of Electronica and Hip Hop beats, then this is the track for you from British producer Andrew Turner, better known as "Aim". This is just one of those tracks you never tire of hearing.

Chali 2na & Krafty Kuts - Waste No Time

What do you mean you DON'T think Chali 2na is the coolest guy on the planet?? Take yourself off into a corner, listen to everything he's ever been involved with, and have a long hard think about your life choices. This track is a great place to start.

The Comet is Coming - Summon The Fire

Do you know how to quantify the music that "The Comet Is Coming" make? Nope, us neither. Who cares though when it sounds as good as this. One of the most bizarre tracks we've heard in a while, but we love it. And so will you.
