The Film & Television Charity

The Film & Television Charity

Admit it, EVERYONE loves the 80’s!

Damson are lucky enough to have been asked to sponsor this year’s Film & Television Charity presented “Love Letter to the 80’s”, held in London on the 14th of November.

Hosted by 1980’s TV stalwart, Pat Sharp, this promises to be an incredibly fun and relaxed evening, all for a great cause!

The Film & Television Charity do amazing work every day. They not only support and help develop newcomers to the industry but also support people already working in Film, Cinema and TV if they have been experiencing difficulties through circumstances out of their control.

They were formed in the 1920’s, and originally called the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund, and threw their first Garden Party in 1925, receiving their very first donation.

Nowadays, they have a main office in London and a satellite office based at Media City in Manchester, and each year distribute around £1million in financial support to hundreds of individuals and families in need of urgent and ongoing assistance. They also offer a 24/7 support team for anyone needing assistance or any sort. A truly fantastic cause.

If there is anyone reading this that is looking to get a nudge in the right direction in the industry, get in touch with them as they offer 3 separate Talent Funding platforms. Find out if you would be eligible now!

The recent re-launch and re-naming has also come with a new mission: To support more people than ever before. This event is the first part of that journey. Street food, silent auctions, Vintage Gaming Arcades and London’s “Coolest Choir” Some voices,  make this a must-attend event for the Great and good of the industry. We’ll be there! Get your tickets at the below link:

Even if you can’t attend, please support this unbelievable charity in any way you can, and make sure that they can continue with the great support work they offer.

Have a look at this video of Some Voices performing a track by the late, great Prince, and make your own mind up on how cool they are!

Make sure you follow and give a shout out!!
